We are delighted to welcome you to the 44th International Week at George Mason University. For the past forty-four years, Mason students from around the globe have come together to develop a program of activities that showcase their countries and cultures, providing us with opportunities to learn and engage with them.
International Week has grown both in nature and scope over the years. As more countries have become represented on campus, the range of program offerings has expanded to include them. With increasing interest and commitment to cross-cultural learning and understanding, participation from both campus and community members has also grown. This is excellent news for all of us because our role as global citizens has never been more important.
As you review this year’s International Week program, you will find many activities designed to challenge and delight you. We hope you will attend as many as you can—not only those you fondly remember from previous years but also some that are new and unfamiliar. Let this experience serve as a metaphor for the change we hope to see on a global scale. Listen. Connect. Participate. And enjoy!
Best wishes,
Jonathan Carmona, Co-Chair | Assistant Director for International Engagement, Office of International Programs and Services
Ayleen Leonhardt, Co-Chair | Assistant Director of Student Organizations, Student Involvement
